For three decades The Committee for Excellence in Education has supported and promoted professional development opportunities in Fauquier public schools with enrichment opportunities for teachers. In excess of $260,000 has been awarded to over 175 teachers during this time by the committee.
In 2013, Fauquier County school officials, school board members, parents, and local citizens met and launched a public school foundation to benefit county students and make 21st century learning a reality.
During the 13/14 School Year, the group merged with The Committee for Excellence in Education and in doing so, the scope of the existing foundation expanded to include Fauquier County public school students, as well as staff.
The Committee for Excellence in Education became the Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation in 2014.
